چکیده
T7 °a ASSESS a patient with complete transposition of the great arteries (TGA) for corrective surgery,1 it is necessary to have accurate and complete physiologic data. Measurement of pressure and oxygen saturation in the pulmonary artery is essential in many cases. Difficulty in catheterization of the pulmonary artery in transposition of the great arteries has led to the development of several technics,2' 3all of which are associated with problems. It is the purpose of this paper to present another method of catheterization of the pulmonary artery in transposition of the great arteries. In addition the method can be used to enter the aorta from the left ventricle in cases

A 33-day-old Infant with the Transposition of the Great Arteries; A Rare Case Report
Dextro-transposition of the great arteries (d-TGA) is the one most common cyanotic congenital heart disease in neonates. The discordant ventriculoarterial arrangement results in parallel circulation, it so is vital to understand the management. We report a rare interesting but critical case of 33-day-old boy who developed cyanosis and had transposition of great arteries combined with interrupte...
متن کاملHemodynamic rounds: Can we mimic a temporary pulmonary artery band in catheterization laboratory in corrected transposition of great arteries with severe tricuspid regurgitation?
Right ventricular (RV) geometry is altered by septal shift after pulmonary artery banding. This may reduce tricuspid regurgitation (TR) and improve ventricular function in patients with corrected transposition of great arteries and systemic right ventricle. However, banding is risky in sick patients with severe RV failure. There are no predictive models in clinical practice to test this septal ...
متن کاملCoil embolization of an anomalous bronchial artery originating from the left subclavian artery following arterial switch operation: a case report
INTRODUCTION Bronchial arteries originate from the descending aorta at the level of the T5-T6 vertebrae following an intrapulmonary course along the major bronchi. When bronchial arteries take off from a vessel other than the descending aorta, the anatomy is defined as an anomalous origin of the bronchial artery. CASE PRESENTATION A 3-day-old boy from Kosovo with dextro-transposition of the g...
متن کاملIdentification of congenital malformations of the great arteries in infants by real-time two-dimensional echocardiography.
Real-time, two dimensional echocardiography was used to identify great artery relations in 23 infants and small children, including 16 patients with angiography documented transposition of the great arteries, tetralogy of Fallot, or pulmonary aresia. Using this technique, the heart was scanned perpendicular to its long axis at the origin of the great arteries. Great arteries cross-sectioned per...
متن کاملTransposition of the great arteries. Changes in the circulation after birth.
Sequential cardiac catheterizations were performed on 19 infants with complete transposition of the great arteries (TGA). None had any additional cardiac abnormalities other than an atrial septal defect. All were under 3 months of age at the time of the initial study. The pulmonary artery pressures and pulmonary-to-systemic vascular resistance ratios were significantly higher under the age of 9...
